Franco-American composer, producer, arranger, and conductor Uèle Lamore announces “The Magnificent Day of Giacomo P”, a bold reimagining of iconic Italian composer Giacomo Puccini’s music, merging classical grandeur with modern electronica. The album also features an entirely new original composition “The Cursing Of Giacomo P”. written by Uèle Lamore. Now Paris-based, Uèle Lamore has become a master in collapsing boundaries, sharing a consummate vision of music’s endless possibilities as decisively exploratory. From her early years studying jazz, rock, and classical music to her latest experimentation with AI-generated sounds, the Franco-American artist has followed her curiosity, seamlessly blended diverse styles and fostering true artistic openness. This fearless approach has cemented her reputation as one of contemporary music’s most acclaimed and innovative artists.

Almost four years in the making, The Magnificent Day of Giacomo P now marks her most ambitious fusion of styles yet Across 11 tracks, Lamore transforms Puccini’s operatic masterpieces into a cinematic, immersive, and emotionally charged album. A space where time, tradition, and heritage diffuse.

Puccini, (1858 –1924) often considered the pop composer of his time and one of the greatest exponents of operatic realism crafted operas that transported audiences into hyper-dramatic, passionately charged worlds. Lamore’s discovery of his music during her education was significant.

“A lot of people have heard Puccini in advertisements or films without realizing it. But when I truly immersed myself in his work through my early compositional schoolteacher it started a passionate obsession,” Lamore says. “His melodies are earworms—just a few notes, and they stay with you forever.”

Lamore’s self-imposed challenge was to reshape Puccini’s vast operas into a present-day album environment, balancing their sweeping narratives with modern musicality, electric guitars, and new rhythmic intensity. “I wanted to highlight the feeling in Puccini’s music; a feeling in which everything is so in your face and so dramatically over the top” says Lamore.

Describing her perspective towards classical music as a genre “It’s not simply about a verse-chorus structure; it’s about melodic fragments that expand and evolve, often over long periods of compositional time – With this project wanted to address that challenge while injecting contemporary elements that still celebrating his legacy.” The result is a genre-defying sonic panorama, seamlessly unifying orchestral drama and ambient glow with dense synth bass and dynamic percussion. Swelling strings and haunting choral textures unite, creating an atmosphere that is both cinematic and deeply immersive.

The album including Lamore’s own guitar washed original “The Cursing Of Giacomo P” sees electronic beats contrast with the grandeur of orchestration, each note composed to evoke emotion, whether through the delicate interplay of soft tones or the commanding presence of bold, resonant harmonies. By reinterpreting Puccini through the lens of cinematic storytelling, the composition bridges classical tradition and contemporary experimentation, transforming operatic motifs into a modern album. Beyond the recorded album, “The Magnificent Day of Giacomo P”. is envisioned as a spectacular immersive live performance, featuring a full orchestra of up to twenty-six string players alongside a crowded lineup of synthesizers, drums and electric guitars. “When I started, I didn't know what it was going to look like completed, but in the end, it became a record that's very unexpected with individual sounds that are too unexpected, I certainly didn’t expect the album to include so much electric guitar, bass, and synths, but the music evolved in that direction. It became something completely unique—unexpected and fun in the best way possible”

Lamore’s background in film scoring plays a crucial role. Having composed for Aïssa Maïga’s Above Water (winner of Best Documentary Soundtrack at the 2022 CSDEM Awards), as well as feature films like The Apology and Riposte Féministe, she brings a narrative-driven approach to the album, making it feel alive, dynamic, and deeply filmic. The Magnificent Day of Giacomo P. cements Uèle Lamore’s status as one of contemporary music’s most talented and original talents, seamlessly merging the classical, electronic, and cinematic. More than a tribute, this album is a radical reinvention, offering listeners an expressive modern take on Puccini’s timelessness.
